In the near future, all cell phones will charge without being plugged in, using induction chargers — some are already configured for this charging system. This company has developed a piece of modern art from concrete and cork that doubles as a wireless induction charging pad. The shape was designed to accommodate two devices simultaneously (tablet and phone) with two independent induction charging hearts. This version is based on the Qi standard found in devices like the LG Nexus 4, Nokia Lumina 920, and Samsung Galaxy S4, and also has cases and dongles for other devices including the iPhone. Programmable NFC tags are incorporated into the cork top to allow changing ring tones when the device is laid on the charger. See www.odeadesign.com
