Go to the gym today and most of the clothing you’ll see will be made from the newer synthetic fabrics that are much better at wicking away sweat and keeping you cooler than cotton. It seems that work clothes have finally caught up and the days of jeans and t-shirts are coming to an end. Old favorite Carhartt has introduced Carhartt Force work shirts, a cotton-polyester blend that wicks away sweat and has a stain-release finish. The shirts come in many styles. Also check out Duluth Trading’s wicking work shirts and pants, some with what they call Armachillo that incorporates microscopic jade in the fabric to provide a cooler feel to the lightweight fabric. The fabric lowers skin temperature and has an antimicrobial built in to block odor. For more, go to and
