One of the worst flaws that has shown up in pervious concrete installations is surface raveling, usually due to lack of curing but sometimes due to poor surface consolidation. At Bunyan Industries’ 3rd annual Pervious Concrete Roast in October a new pan float for pervious concrete was demonstrated. “It toughens up the surface but doesn’t close up the voids,” says Bunyan’s David Mitchell. “Even conventional pans can work with a well-proportioned mix, but this lighter pan will work even on a marginal mix.” Catch Mitchell and other pervious experts at Pervious Concrete Live! during the 2013 World of Concrete.
