A single truck can deliver a precast basement wall system which requires no poured footings. The reinforced concrete panels are 2 inches thick with integral concrete studs spaced 24 inches on centers. The studs are 2 1/4 inches thick and 6 3/4 inches deep, with a 3/4-inch pressure treated wood nailing strip permanently attached to the inside edge ready to receive dry wall or other finish. A continuous 1-inch layer of extruded polystyrene insulation sandwiched between the studs against the exterior concrete face shell gives the panels an R value of 5. Each panel is a structural member designed to resist horizontal and vertical loads. The reinforced bond beam, the reinforced face shell, the footing member and the studs are all cast as a single piece using a 4500-psi concrete mix.
