In addition to the Artistry projects, exhibitors at the Concrete Surfaces Decorative Pavilion also shined by displaying their own craftsmanship in decorative concrete to the tens of thousands of attendees.
Among the most popular decorative concrete exhibits was Butterfield Color’s booth, which came in first in the Attendees’ Choice balloting and was named Best Overall by the expert judges. The judges also deemed Solomon Colors’s exhibit the best for flatwork, and Smith Paints as tops for specialty products. Here are some highlights from their experiences at the show.
Butterfield Color Inc.
Butterfield’s 30- by 35-foot booth was designed to demonstrate the full range of the company’s products. The showpiece consisted of a residential building façade and adjacent exterior elements, all built using Butterfield products. Patio spaces featured stamped patterns, textures, and colors. Displays included a fire pit, seating along a knee wall built using form liners to simulate ashlar stone masonry, and a curved and textured bar top.
“It was a very good show, with heavy booth traffic most of the time,” said Keith Boudart, Butterfield sales manager. “Our goal at WOC is to support our existing distributors and customers, as well as to connect with new ones. The exhibit was created by our sales team, which poured all the concrete and the rest of the construction using our products. That gives our people an advantage when they talk with visitors, because they’re able to speak from their first-hand knowledge and demonstrate their interest in and passion for the products.”
