In business since 1983, Gary Hayden started as a general contractor. Ten years ago, he changed his focus to decorative concrete because he “wanted to move on to more exciting things.” After that, business took off. Today, his work focuses on concrete countertops, acid staining, multicolored stamping, and restoration.

After lightly diamond grinding his slab, Hayden engraved the lines of his pattern with a diamond blade mounted on an angle grinder and a small needle scaler to add texture to small spots. He followed this with a lightly textured overlay cement application. Hayden added color using acid stains and solvent driven dyes. He sealed it with an application of polyaspartic polyurea sealer.
