Percy cast his own pad, carving out a pond area and shaping boulders around the perimeter. At the back of his pad, he laid up a unit masonry rock wall using polystyrene blocks, covering them with a structure coat of overlay cement and a texture coat that looked like boulders. He also texture coated the pond area to add realism. Next he formed a bridge over the pond, placed and compacted batches of pervious concrete, and covered it with poly film to cure it. After two days, the forms and plastic were removed and the bridge was able to carry the weight of Percy and his volunteers. Percy used water-based sealers to color the work.
