Pablo Johnson, an employee at Mozell by Design, says the company focuses on murals and other faux work. With a particular interest in microtoppings, Johnson's demonstration featured a troweled-on vertical surface with uniform color, contrasted by a dark colored floor with a multicolored intricate design he created using stencil masks.

For the floor, he started with two dark brown thin microtop applications. Then, he applied the first of a two-part stencil. He used it to apply several colors to the complicated, ornate pattern. Afterward he removed the stencil and applied the second pattern. Parts of this pattern covered elements of the first stencil, allowing new colors to be installed over previous ones. He used nine different colors to complete the work, finishing his slab with applications of water-based urethane sealer.
