In 2015, Gehl introduced the all new DL12-55 telescopic handler to the North American market. This new machine combines the best advantages of the DL11-55 and DL12-40 into one product. With 12,000 lbs. (5443 kg) of lift capacity and 55’5” (16.8 m) of lift height, the DL12-55 features the largest capacity and highest lift height in the Gehl DL Series Telescopic Handler line. The power and performance of the DL12-55 are fueled by an Interim Tier IV-certified, 115 hp (86 kW) John Deere diesel engine.

Over the last several years, the industry has been changing to include a larger capacity range of telescopic handlers in many national and local rental fleets. The DL12-55 was highly anticipated due to its additional capacity and lift height, which will maximize the return on investment for rental companies and dealer-owned rental houses.

The Gehl DL12-55 stands above the competition with its innovative, intuitive features. The Personnel Work Platform (PWP) System is an optional factory-approved work platform solution to ensure safe work platform use. Paired with the Remote Boom Control (RBC) option, the PWP system enhances versatility on the DL12-55 and is compatible with any ANSI/ITSDF B56.6-compliant work platform.

The body of the DL12-55 features a see-through, rear frame design with angled frame boom supports to increase operational vision to the right rear of the machine. Paired with the high boom mount, the operator has industry-leading visibility around the machine during operation. A 12'2" turning radius and an overall height of only 8'6" offer unsurpassed control in tight confines.

The DL12-55 features a large operator’s compartment, ergonomically tailored to suit any operator’s needs. Customized performance is made possible with adjustable fork tilt and auxiliary line functions to customize hydraulic speeds to the comfort level of the operator.

The DL12-55 is the only machine in the industry to offer two separate single joystick control options. Precise control has never been easier thanks to a single joystick, available with both dual- or tri-function operation.  The dual-function joystick allows for proportional control of attachments and auxiliary hydraulics. The tri-function joystick allows the operator to preset a preferred flow to the attachment for optimum performance, yet with the squeeze of a trigger activate full flow for faster cycle times.

The DL12-55 is equipped with additional performance features such as; standard outriggers, four wheel drive/four wheel steer, 4-speed Powershift transmission, and standard foam-filled, puncture resistant tires (with optional solid rubber tires). A rear axle stabilization system brings improved stability in all working environments.

Two attachment mounting system options are available on the DL12-55 to maximize operator efficiency. Standard on the DL12-55, the Dynattach Quick Attach auto-latching system allows quick attachment changes with unsurpassed ease and attachment visibility. The optional Dynacarrier Quick Attach System goes a step further with a larger support base for attachments.  A growing list of tool type attachments deliver a wide variety of jobsite applications. The Gehl Industry-Exclusive Boom Tip Lift Hook provides a secure lifting point for transporting suspended loads without the use of an additional attachment.

Service and maintenance are made easy on the DL12-55 Telescopic Handler with the side mounted engine compartment and drivetrain configuration. The entire engine is accessible under an easy-lift engine cover, and a mid-frame cover provides access to the transmission, transfer case, electrical and hydraulic components. A 10-year frame warranty comes standard with all Gehl DL Series Telescopic Handlers – a testament to the durability of product line.
