The hyperbolic paraboloid shell has a promising future because it offers unusual beauty, impressive spans and relatively low cost. Now a Florida firm, West Coast Shell Corporation, Sarasoat, has announced that it is offering a service whereby it will cast hyperbolic paraboloid shell in a variety of stock sizes on any jobsite in the United States. Engineers of the firm calculate the footing size applicable to the soil bearing capacity at the project site. They then cast the footings, columns and shell in stock forms. Available shell sizes range form 8 feet by 10 feet to 100 feet square.
