Truck-mounted or self-propelled conveyors permit fast, accurate, and efficient material handling at the jobsite, reducing labor requirements while freeing up cranes, skidsteers, and tractor or wheel loaders for other work. The conveyors are equally at home when making a single massive concrete placement, a number of smaller concrete placements, or spreading an aggregate base for a basement floor.
Truck-mounted conveyors can move concrete, crushed stone, sand, and soil with equal facility. The largest of these is the Telebelt TB 105 conveyor from Putzmeister America Inc., with a 105-foot horizontal reach, 58-foot vertical reach, and maximum output of 360 cubic yards per hour.
When a project requires a number of smaller pours, self-propelled conveyors are often the most economical placing-equipment choice. The self-propelled Mobile Placer from Morgen Mfg. Co. has a 56-foot vertical reach, placing concrete and bulk materials at rates of up to 100 cubic yards per hour.
