Treating chopped synthetic fibers by this unique process permits 3-in. fibers to be added to concrete mixed with commercial equipment so that fibers remain flat and are uniformly distributed and oriented randomly throughout the concrete. Fibers also can be added to other construction materials to provide increased strength, durability, and reliability for buildings, roads, bridges, runways, dock/piers, retaining walls, levees, and other applications.
