Generators in Subaru's conventional line feature an automatic decompression system and easy-pull recoil starter or electronic ignition system for reliable starting performance. An automatic idle control, which lowers engine speed when no electrical power is required, comes standard on most models. A quieter operation is achieved with sound-suppressing air cleaners and an extra-large muffler. Models are available in two engine types: overhead cam engine with maximum outputs ranging from 2900 and 4800 watts and overhead valve engine with maximum outputs of 5800 to 13,000 watts.
