Artist Michael Wolk, an award-winning designer of furniture, graphics, and interiors, chose concrete for one of his largest and most public designs. Commissioned by the city of Miami as part of its Art in Public Places program, Wolk's Living Room Suite is a 6-ton, larger-than-life grouping of precast concrete furniture. Overscaled by 25%, the integrally colored, five-piece work includes a sofa, reading chair and ottoman, lounge chair, and coffee table. It took more than 9 months to produce.
