This is a large outdoor kitchen counter constructed of cast-in-place colored concrete and recycled glass. On site, we built a custom mold of Styrofoam and rubber to create the unique rope-style edge detail. Once the forms were in place, we painstakingly glued more than 600 fiber-optic cables onto chunks of glass that were hand set into the countertop. The fiber-optic lighting connects to two illuminators that have been equipped with color wheels. At night, as you move your cocktail glass around the counter over the different color chunks of glass, it creates varying effects.

The glass chunks are set on dollops of concrete at a level just above finish height. Once the counter has cured 10-14 days, we grind, hone and polish the top to a smooth as glass finish. The result is an entertainer's delight both day and night!
