Internet giant Google enlisted ModernCrete to polish the concrete floors at its Austin, Texas, office so that a vinyl adhesive logo could be placed that would also run up the walls. Instead of applying a sticker logo, however, ModernCrete’s Vice President of Operations Chris Bishop suggested a dye-and-stencil technique. Google agreed, and ModernCrete custom-blended the colors to match the logo. Google loves it!
The project included removing the carpet glue, patching holes, repairing damage, and applying a chemical densifier by RetroPlate. The contractor then performed diamond-grinding, polishing the concrete floor to a medium-gloss finish. After several rounds of testing, ModernCrete was able to perfect the color-match of its concrete dyes to Google’s logo.
