With a vast open spaced building, it became important to create an aesthetically appealing floor with character, staining gave that effect, with its rich translucent tones, which mimicked polished marble at cheaper long term cost. The stained concrete has a variable, non-uniform look, which gives it broad appeal and permits an infinite array of special effects. As all the floors were poured in place lightweight concrete, it omitted the additional dead load of marble or tile flooring. As the building was a culinary facility, the stained floors met the requirements of Los Angeles health department and can be easily maintained. Total polished concrete was Approx. 45,000 sq. ft.
