Inspired by a former onsite rock quarry that once supplied limestone for the city of Cincinnati, Twin Lakes Playground celebrates the natural history of the site and the region. Limestone slab benches and boulders define the edges of the playground, and the custom play equipment echoes native trees and logs. The beautifully planted playground also includes a rain garden to collect storm water and a wide variety of plants that engage children’s senses.

It took a creative team of nine artists and sculptors five weeks to complete the Twin Lakes Eden Park project, using materials such as steel, concrete, glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), concrete stain, and environmentally friendly water-based paints. Cre8Play’s extensive experience and abilities, as well as its attention to the smallest detail, created a truly custom product. Stamping and texturing is taken a step further by using indigenous rock and tree bark samples obtained from each specific site to create natural and accurate color matched textures in the concrete.
