ACI 310, Decorative Concrete, has become a joint committee of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC). Clark Branum of Diamatic USA is chair.

“The Decorative Concrete Council (DCC) has been a specialty council of the ASCC for 20 years, and many DCC members are active on ACI 310," he says. "It makes perfect sense to bring the expertise and experiences of the two groups to bear more closely on this committee.”

The committee published ACI 310R-13, Guide to Decorative Concrete, a practical guide for imparting decorative finishes to concrete flatwork using proven techniques and achieving aesthetic effects. These recommendations are made for the production of cast-in-place decorative concrete flatwork, decorative stains, and overlays.

The ASCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of those who build with concrete and to providing them a unified voice in the construction industry. Members include concrete contracting firms, manufacturers, suppliers, and others interested in the concrete industry such as architects, specifiers, and engineers. There are approximately 750 member companies in the U.S. and 11 other countries.
