Giatec has announced and launched at Bauma, the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) tool for the concrete industry. Called “Roxi” it will have access to millions of data points, through the company's SmartRock sensors. It will be collecting info with the intent of finding anomalies at various stages of the concrete life-cycle including production, delivery, placement, and hardening. These anomalies are nearly impossible for humans to detect. The program was developed with Mila at the University of Montreal. Their team just won the Turing Award, basically the Nobel prize for artificial intelligence. “Roxi is another leap forward for Giatec, ensuring that concrete testing speeds up the construction process, rather than slow it down,“ said Giatec co-founder and chief product officer Aali Alizadeh in a statement.
