As a self-performing offshoot of Webcor Builders, one of California’s largest contractors, Webcor Concrete handles large-scale wastewater, water treatment, civil infrastructure, industrial, and institutional projects. Over four decades, Webcor has developed an extensive database it taps to assist in value-engineering current projects. By combining Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other virtual building tools with the database of historical construction costs, Webcor can identify conflicts prior to construction and provide accurate schedules, work sequences, shop drawings, and estimates. In the field, quality engineers monitor nine critical project elements using Webcor’s proprietary Quality Initiative Program (QIP), which provides continuous feedback for fine-tuning schedules and forecasts.
Webcor’s capacity to bond large civil and industrial projects is strengthened through partnering with global construction and civil engineering giant Obayashi. Large project size and work volume enhance Webcor’s buying power and ability to negotiate pricing and shorten schedules. It promotes its three-day pour cycle, which facilitates integration of schedules with other trades.
