Leica Geosystems today announced the launch of the HDS Virtual Classroom, an online training opportunity for professionals who desire to take their laser scanning abilities to the next level.
Taught by experts with extensive experience in all fields of laser scanning, each two- to three-hour live course delves into a common challenge or question and guides students through step-by-step best practices designed to ensure success.
Course topics include alignments and TINs; basic Cyclone features and operation; cloud-to-cloud based registration; CloudWorx for AutoCAD; CloudWorx for Revit; copy tool and data import; data cleanup; Leica ScanStation P16, P30 and P40 field operations; plant modeling; target-based registration; using Leica external camera kit; and others.
Ideal for small teams or individuals, each course is customized to focus on the tools and applications used by the students. Class sizes are limited to maximize practical, hands-on learning using real-world datasets.
“This is the next evolution of Leica Geosystems' HDS training,” said Michael Harvey, HDS Product Applications manager. “Onsite training courses remain popular and will continue to be available. However, as professionals involved in laser scanning increasingly struggle to fit training into their busy schedules, online courses provide a practical solution. The full curriculum offered through the HDS Virtual Classroom covers all the basics as well as key details that can make or break a professional’s success on laser scanning projects. My team and I are very excited about the opportunity to help advance the industry through this initiative.”
