The American Concrete Institute’s (ACI) Annual Chapter Leadership Training Program was held May 21 – 22, 2018. Participants from around the globe were in attendance representing 18 domestic and six international local chapters. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from their peers as they walked through practical concepts and resources to improve chapter management.

ACI Past President, and Chair of ACI Chapter Activities Committee (CAC) Bill Rushing, kicked off day one of training with an overview of chapter activities. Jon Hockman, of McKinley Advisors, presented two topics that provided insight on chapter relevance and declaring the business of the chapter. Kimberly Kayler, President of Advancing Organizational Excellence (AOE), covered member communications. To assist with meeting planning, Michael Morrison, ACI Manager of Certification Program Development, shared considerations for a successful meeting.

Day two included chapter management training. From StarChapter, LLC., Account Executive Katie Ketter, along with National Account Executive Andra Huhulea, introduced a management system during their presentation titled, "Chapter Management Made Easy." "Is That Easy," presented by Samuel Erkonen, P.C., demonstrated practical concepts to assist with bylaws and board operations.

The American Concrete Institute has chapters located throughout the world. Participation in a local chapter can help gain greater technical knowledge and facilitate networking with leaders in the concrete community.

The Fall Chapter Roundtable will be held on October 13, 2018, in Las Vegas, NV, USA, during the ACI Concrete Convention and Exposition.
