This seminar will bring to light many of the issues a place and finish crew goes through to create the canvas for the polishing contractor. The polishing contractor may not understand what it takes to produce a flat slab that is properly finished and cured. They only realize after the fact the problems that may arise during grinding and honing. Conversely, many place and finish crews don’t understand how to properly create the canvas to be polished. They are accustomed to “burning the slab in” as done on warehouse floors, which is not conducive to polishing. Bottom line, both floor contractors and polishing contractors need to have an understanding of the slab placement and finishing, as well as the polishing, and both need to share the common goal of producing a beautiful polished surface.
