Torrent Shotcrete Canada Ltd. has been fined $130,000 after a worker was killed when he fell into the hopper of a running concrete pump during cleanup operations. The incident took place January 16, 2017 at a residential building under construction in Toronto. The safety switch that would have prevented the pump from operating with the hopper grate open had been bypassed.
