The Regional Transportation District hosted girls from Colorado and New Mexico as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Career Days for Girls Initiative. The goal is to address labor shortages in the construction industry, where women make up only 8% of the workforce. A second group of girls is set to meet with transportation and construction leaders later in July in an ongoing effort to introduce the multitude of careers available.
