Tom Murphy, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Miami-based Coastal Construction Group, announced the company has been awarded a $9.2 million contract for the construction of Sunny Isles Beach Heritage Park and Parking Garage, a four acre multi-use facility in Sunny Isles Beach.

The Sunny Isles Beach City Council selected Coastal out of 31 firms submitting proposals to construct the development located at 19200 Collins Avenue that will consist of government offices and a three acre park featuring two playgrounds, a gazebo, a basketball court, an exercise trail, and a large play/event area. The Park will also house the City's Public Works Department, as well as a concession stand and public restrooms. Additionally, Coastal will be responsible for the construction of a 500-space parking garage with a landscaped access driveway. The parking garage is scheduled for completion in June 2010 while the park is scheduled for completion in July/August2010.

"We are honored to have been chosen by the City of Sunny Isles Beach and look forward to delivering a quality product that residents and visitors will enjoy for many years," said Murphy. "I want to congratulate my team for their instrumental use of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system to demonstrate the plan for construction during the bidding process allowing us be part of this great addition to the City of Sunny Isles Beach."
