Louisville, Colorado ? September 7, 2010 ? VUEWorks, Inc. (Concord, NH) and its channel partner Allied GIS, Inc. are pleased to announce that the South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (SACWSD) of Colorado has selected VUEWorks® to manage and maintain its infrastructure assets. VUEWorks is a web-based, GIS-integrated asset management solution that helps municipalities and other organizations track the condition, minimize failure risk, optimize expenditures and improve service delivery of their assets.
Rapid Expansion Spurs Asset Management Adoption
South Adams County is the largest combined Water and Sanitation District in Colorado and is growing rapidly. The District currently covers over 65 square miles and serves nearly 50,000 customers. It is presently developing water supplies which will be capable of providing up to 27,000 acre-ft. of water per year, serving approximately 54,000 ERUS (equivalent residential units). The District is also building one of the U.S.' largest separate irrigation systems north of Commerce City, CO. This separate system provides non-potable alluvial well water to residential, commercial, and industrial customers for irrigation and other non-potable uses.
Commented Elthron Anderson, GIS Specialist for South Adams County Water & Sanitation District: "We chose VUEWorks because it met our strategic needs on many levels. It enabled us to extend the value and capabilities of our GIS beyond mapping, providing personnel access to critical information (As-Builts, CCTV videos, billing, etc.) in the office or field using a simple web browser. VUEWorks also allowed us to integrate work orders thereby tracking any work performed on our assets. We are now able to calculate the true cost of work done on our infrastructure and manage our assets in a manner that leverages the true potential of an Enterprise GIS."
Representatives from South Adams County WSD will join Allied GIS and VUEWorks at the GIS in the Rockies conference booth #11, September 14-17, 2010 in Loveland, CO. The District will share lessons learned in maximizing the potential of Enterprise GIS with asset management.
Commented Gail Morrison, Allied GIS' President: "The District is Allied GIS' first major account in Colorado. We are excited to have the District as a customer and look forward to working with them."
Commented Kenneth Spalding, P.E., VUEWorks' Sales Manager: "The District faces a big challenge in managing both aging infrastructure and at the same time adding new, critical water infrastructure to keep pace with development. VUEWorks provides a flexible framework for municipalities to add infrastructure-as-they-go, track asset condition, and prioritize maintenance expenditures. We are very pleased to have SACWSD as a customer and reference account for us at GIS in the Rockies."
