
An estimated 1,000 people are expected to visit the sixth annual expo to be offered Tuesday and Wednesday by the Pittsburgh State University School of Construction.
The expo will feature more than 60 vendors from across the nation, demonstrations of new technologies, and the chance to look at the construction job market. New this year is a regional qualifying competition for an American Concrete Institute national contest. Students in two divisions — high school and university — will test concrete cylinders by tracking their strength and how fast water flows through them, O'Brien said. Winners will receive a sponsorship from the Kansas division of the American Concrete Institute to attend the national contest in Las Vegas.
