Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR), a leading provider of civil engineering, environmental and surveying services to public agencies across Illinois and surrounding states, today announced it has acquired the Mount Carmel, Ill.-based firm Lamac Engineering. Joining forces with Lamac greatly expands the services offered to its clients in northern, central and southern Illinois.

“This investment supports HLR’s vision to be able to provide more comprehensive solutions to our customers,” said David Hinkston, HLR’s CEO. “The acquisition of Lamac is consistent with our long-term plans to grow HLR through strategic acquisitions.”

Involved in all areas of civil, municipal, transportation and environmental engineering, Lamac Engineering has worked with urban and rural entities, as well as local, state and federal agencies, for more than 75 years. In addition to extending HLR’s geographic footprint to the southernmost part of Illinois and Indiana, Lamac brings additional expertise in the energy and water/wastewater engineering markets.

“Lamac’s solid reputation for quality work and their presence in southern Illinois allows us to better serve all of our clients and especially to offer environmentally sound solutions for the energy industry as it continues to develop in that area,” Hinkston added.

“We are pleased to join such a dynamic firm, and we are convinced that this is a great cultural fit,” said Michael Gill, who joins HLR as the leader of the Lamac office. “Both organizations are employee-centric, committed to quality and have worked hard to develop and maintain excellent reputations. I’m confident that our mutual clients will benefit greatly from the richness that our combined strengths bring to the table.”

Under terms of the acquisition, Lamac will retain its name and operate as Lamac Engineering, a division of Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. In addition to Gill, Lamac partners John Acree and Austin Ridgely are now partners in HLR.
