As reported in our July issue Out of the Ordinary article, “Playing with nature,” CDC blogger Ali S. Khan's May 16 post "Social Media: Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse" was so popular, it brought the agency's servers to a temporary halt when first posted. Now the State of Kansas has joined in this unique approach to disaster preparedness, designating the already spooky month of October as Zombie Preparedness Month. The Kansas Division of Emergency Management says if people are prepared for zombie attacks, they're ready for anything.
