KM International, manufacturer of pavement maintenance equipment, was recently awarded a national purchasing contract through the Houston Galveston Area Council, better known as the HGACBuy program. This program is one of the largest cooperative purchasing contracts in the country.
Through the contract, municipalities can purchase KM International’s entire line of asphalt maintenance equipment without the need for an additional bidding process, making the procurement process faster and more efficient. The HGACBuy program features a variety of nationally solicited contracts that are awarded to vendors best suited to fill the needs of municipalities across the country. Membership to HGACBuy is free for all eligible agencies, including local, regional, and state-level governmental departments.
“We are very excited to be awarded a contract through the HGACBuy program,” says Michael Blake, director of marketing at KM International, based in North Branch, Mich. “Many municipalities are shifting to using cooperative purchasing contracts because of the time and money they save, so to be awarded a nationally recognized contract is an exciting step in streamlining the process of getting our equipment in the hands of the end users quicker and cheaper.”
Just last year, KM International was also awarded a national cooperative purchasing contract with the National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (NCPA). KM International has been manufacturing asphalt maintenance equipment for more than 30 years. Operating out of a manufacturing facility in North Branch, Mich., they offer more than 40 different products to fit the needs and budget of any contractor or municipality. Currently, the company's equipment is used in every U.S. state as well as 44 countries around the world.
