ARLINGTON, Va. (October 23, 2013) – The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), in conjunction with leading fall protection equipment manufacturers, will sponsor a hands-on educational showcase at the 2014 World of Concrete taking place in Las Vegas January 21-24, 2014; seminars January 20-24. The World of Concrete attracts more than 50,000 construction managers, general and specialty contractors, equipment operators, specifiers and business owners.

“We are excited to partner with Concrete Construction to educate employers and end-users on the importance of safety when working at heights,” said ISEA president Dan Shipp. “The ability to reach this large audience in a venue such as this is invaluable as ISEA members share the common goal with these employers for a safe worksite.”

Throughout the exhibition days, attendees will be able to focus on key elements of fall protection systems including proper anchorage points, body support systems and connectors and will have an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in an interactive exercise.

In addition, experts from 3M, Capital Safety, Elk River and Honeywell Safety Products will conduct a more comprehensive training exercise twice a day that features new product technology, discussion on industry standards and regulations, and principles of fall protection equipment selection and use.

“Inadequate fall protection equipment and training continue to be cited as a top OSHA violation,” said Shipp. “ISEA members are well-versed in providing solutions to assist employers in making appropriate decisions when it comes to possible fall exposures. By sharing this knowledge, equipment providers work closely with construction companies to reduce the number of OSHA citations and more importantly, to protect employees engaged in dangerous work where the risk of injury is very likely.”
