“Operator training is paramount to ensuring the access industry is made safer,” said Skyjack group president Ken McDougall in his keynote speech at the recent APEX conference in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The speaker went on to emphasize the need for a standardized and accredited training program available on a global basis, such as the one available from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) which provides the fundamentals required to operate different types of equipment. More than 70,000 operators of mobile elevating work platforms are trained each year through a worldwide network of over 300 centers. Those completing the program awarded a Powered Access License (PAL) card.
