The Masonry Society, with the support of the Masonry Association of Florida, the Florida Concrete and Products Association, the Brick Industry Association, the International Masonry Institute, the National Concrete Masonry Association, the Portland Cement Association, and other organizations, is planning a 2018 University Professors' Masonry Workshop (UPMW) to be held at the University of South Florida in Tampa on March 11-13. Dr. Rajan Sen who is a Professor and Jefferson Science Fellow at USF will serve as the workshop host.

The UPMW is designed to assist professors and faculty at universities and colleges with creating or offering masonry courses so that students will be positively exposed to masonry and feel more comfortable with it when used on their projects. Educational sessions on masonry design, detailing and construction will be presented, panel discussions on a number of topics are planned, and a hands-on masonry laying activity will be offered. Additional details on the program will be posted here as they become available later this fall.
