NRMCA President Robert A. Garbini, P.E. announced his plans to retire at the conclusion of NRMCA’s Annual Convention in March 2019.

In making his decision, Garbini cited his 27 years with NRMCA, 44 years overall in the construction industry, and his lifetime commitment to the success of the organization and an industry he highly respects and appreciates.

He said he was sure that the highly respected NRMCA professionals and member leadership will continue to achieve all the goals for advancing concrete’s interests in the building sector, local paving market and advocacy arena, as well as continuing to increase the professionalism of the workforce and the quality of product through research and education.

In sharing this announcement with NRMCA’s Board of Directors last Thursday, NRMCA Chairman Rodney Grogan thanked Garbini for his years of service and dedication, noting he has been a faithful advocate and leader of the association and the ready mixed concrete industry, and wished him well in his future retirement. Grogan further announced to the NRMCA Board today that a search committee comprised of NRMCA past chairmen led by Bill Childs, Chaney Enterprises, will begin the task of identifying a candidate for NRMCA’s leadership to consider as Mr. Garbini’s replacement.

NRMCA is celebrating its 88th year of representing the producers of ready mixed concrete and the companies that provide materials, equipment and support to the industry. It conducts education, training, promotion, research, engineering, safety, environmental, technological, lobbying and regulatory programs.
