Harry L. Gressette, 52, of Goose Creek, S.C., was a speaker at the Concrete Polishing Concrete Luncheon & Forum at World of Concrete, the International Concrete Polishing and Staining Conference, and was managing partner of Ardor Solutions in South Carolina, He was a founding board member of the Concrete Polishing Association of America, member of ACI, National Ready Mix Association, American Society of Concrete Contractors, and a Master Craftsman and Certified Instructor by the Concrete Polishing Association of America.

Authorities say Gressette and two other men were shot to death in the early morning hours of Oct. 7 in Moncks Corner, S.C., according to The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C. A fourth man was wounded, and police arrested Robert David Nolen at the scene of the crime. According to the newspaper, authorities believe the men may have been preparing to protect one of the victim's homes from approaching Hurricane Matthew when the shooting occurred. Police do not know what triggered the murders.

Although he usually went over her alloted time limit at the Polishing Luncheon, the almost 200 polishing contractors didn't mind and always enjoyed his advice. “If you do residential floors, don’t bid on a 100,000-square-foot project,” he told the audience in 2012. “You will not meet the project’s specifications. Start and practice small.” Gressette also had a winning project in the 2012 Concrete Surfaces Annual Polished Concrete Awards.
