CEMEX is supplying subcontractor Baker Concrete with more than 40,000 cubic yards of custom concrete for the 100 Las Olas tower, a high-rise residential and commercial space in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
“100 Las Olas will be the first new condo building in downtown Ft. Lauderdale in more than a decade, providing new homes and business spaces in a very sought-after part of town,” says Baker Concrete Project Manager, Raul Ramirez.
Once complete, the 46-floor structure which includes 238 guest rooms, 121 luxury condos, and fine dining/retail space—will be the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale. The project is expected to be finished in late 2018.
“The concrete mixes created for this project used both CEMEX aggregates and cement, so this is a team effort across our Florida operations,” says CEMEX USA Florida Region President, Kirk Light. “We are committed to providing superior experiences for our customers like Baker Concrete, who use our products to help build a better future in South Florida.”
