Robert Milek founded the Blair, Nebraska-based company in 1957. In 1989 he sold the business to Huntel, which was acquired by Oshkosh in 2004. Today, as one of four brands—CON-E-CO, McNeilus, London and IMT—in the Oshkosh Commercial Group, CON-E-CO engineers, manufactures and supports North America’s leading line of portable and stationary concrete batch plants, mixers, material handling systems and dust control systems for the concrete ready-mix industry.
“Sixty years after the company was founded, we are still building to customers’ operation and site requirements,” said Neil Smith, CON-E-CO general manager. “Innovation and reliable performance are two hallmarks of our product lines, which are designed to help our customers meet their toughest challenges.”
Typical production capacity of the versatile CON-E-CO fleet can range from 50 to 300 plus yards per hour. While most plants are designed for more permanent installations, the Portable Transit Mix plants can be disassembled and relocated as needed.
CON-E-CO equipment has been used in numerous projects around the world, including the construction of a dam in California, the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., Camp Dwyer military base in Afghanistan and leading hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
“Successful installations like these typify why ready-mix producers and contractors continue to place their trust in us and our excellent network of full-service dealers,” said Smith. “We look forward to maintaining their trust as we continue to support our customers and the industry over the next 60 years and beyond.”
