Experts from EcoDepot, a Gaithersburg, Md., environmental consulting engineering firm, have developed a system that may become a best practice for the concrete industry. Their system controls the pH level of periodic discharges of clear water by using a powder sodium bisulfate as the buffering agent. By doing so, producers avoid liquid acid and all of the safety concerns associated with using hazardous materials.
