Founded in 1955, Delaware Valley Concrete (DVC) has more than 130 employees that serve a diverse customer base across the greater Delaware Valley. With nine plants and a fleet of 88 mixers, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy trucks, DVC has the production and delivery capacity to supply any type of job.
The producer has provided concrete for schools, hospitals, shopping centers, apartment complexes, manufacturing plants, highways, and other major projects; specializes in concrete for residential construction; and even helps do-it-yourselfers with small jobs like patios, steps, garden walls, and decorative landscaping.
In early 2014, DVC rolled out its first ready-mix truck powered entirely by compressed natural gas (CNG), making it the first concrete producer to own and operate a CNG mixer in Pennsylvania and Delaware. “As a fuel, CNG has plenty to offer. Not only is it cheaper to produce than diesel, it also burns much cleaner. DVC is reducing its carbon footprint in the industry and its fueling costs as well,” says president Mario Diliberto.
DVC is already at the forefront in manufacturing and delivering specialty products and mixes to projects with stringent specifications. Committed to using only domestically produced materials, DVC will power its new vehicles with domestically produced CNG. “Five more CNG mixers will be unveiled in the spring, and our goal is to have a substantial percentage of our fleet powered using CNG by 2015,” adds Diliberto.
