Robert Ober & Associates, LLC (RO&A) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Nearing as Chief Executive Officer of RO&A and its affiliated engineer-procure-construct enterprises. The enterprises encompass industrial project development, design, engineering and construction services to a number of industries, including but not limited to construction materials, energy, manufacturing and agriculture.
Nearing and his law firm are longstanding corporate counsel to RO&A. Before opening his own construction law practice, Nearing served as General Counsel to Mastec, Inc., a $2 billion publicly traded international construction company. In the late 80s and through the 90s, he served as CEO and General Counsel for an international air charter company owned by him and a partner. In the United States, he operated commercial charter and airfield services; in central Africa, he operated a 14 aircraft fleet transporting relief agency personnel and cargo for 10 years.
He spent 2 years at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and 5 years with the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius immediately after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
I have assigned the role of CEO to Michael to better facilitate management of the multiple enterprises we presently operate and the recently-developed strategic alliance with Energy Architecture, which is taking the company into larger and more complex projects,” says Robert Ober.
Ober, as founder and owner, will retain his role as Chairman of the Board. He will continue to lead project development and design/engineering with his team of professionals from both RO&A and all affiliated enterprises and Energy Architecture—while Nearing focuses on Operations and Administration.
