The annual National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) Awards program honors plants that make safety a top priority. The 2011 awards program (based on the 2010 calendar year) drew 150 entrants, representing more than 10.3 million manhours of labor in precast concrete plants. The average incident rate among all precast concrete plants is 5.4, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, while the rate is 4.3 among NPCA members, a 21% improvement.
