Smico/Symons Screens recently announced Alan Odgers as Vice President of the Oklahoma City-based manufacturer specializing in custom vibratory screens, feeders, conveyors and wear parts for the mining, aggregate, processing, milling, oil drilling, recycling, bulk handling and food processing markets. Odgers brings with him extensive experience with global distribution of construction-related equipment and managing all areas of sales, marketing, manufacturing and retail distribution through dealers or direct sales. Beginning his career with Charles Machine Works in 1987, he rose through a variety of management roles at Timberjack, Vermeer, Astec Underground and JW Jones Company before joining Smico/Symons as Vice President. Odgers works closely with the Smico/Symons management team to help expand sales and distribution of its equipment globally.

“We are excited to add the talents of an industry veteran like Alan to our team,” commented Erick Heald, co-owner of Smico/Symons Screens. “His extensive experience in growing companies within the markets that we serve, in combination with his international experience, will add further depth to our capabilities and support our global initiatives.”

Smico/Symons’ manufacturing roots date back to 1937 when many of the concepts it has further advanced were developed and founded under the name Productive Equipment. Through mergers and acquisitions, including the Symons Brothers Screen Company in 2009, the company has more than 80 years of history manufacturing screening equipment in a variety of markets where custom solutions, wear parts and processing equipment are needed to maximize quality production.

“I decided to join Smico/Symons because it’s a unique opportunity to work with an established leader in the screening industry,” commented Odgers. “My industry experience and wide range of responsibilities over several years will help drive continued growth domestically and internationally.”
