Precast producers will find lots to do at The Precast Show, March 3-8, at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla. In addition to visiting more than 200 exhibitors, the show’s attendees can take plant tours, watch product demonstrations, and network with their fellow producers.
Education will play a prominent role at this year’s Precast Show. Some of the educational opportunities will include production and quality sessions. These will cover issues such as safety, leadership, sustainability for those working in production, architectural precast, equipment for quality precast production, precast concrete pavement systems, admixture technology, marketing, critiquing your specifier, calculating product costs, effective sales teams, operations management, concrete durability, hot and cold weather concrete, septic tanks, Lean implementation, and working with your department of transportation. The American Concrete Pipe Association will also present its 2015 Pipe School.
A special event will be the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) Salute to Excellence 6:30-11:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at Universal Studios Florida. The evening begins with a 50th anniversary kickoff and industry awards dinner at Universal’s Soundstage 33.
There will also be a preview of the golden anniversary events planned for 2015, and recognition of the winners of the Creative Use of Precast Awards, the Sustainability Awards, the Pinnacle Awards, and top-scoring plants in the NPCA Plant Certification program. The fourth graduating class of Precast University will be presented, with the introduction of the industry’s newest Master Precaster.
Attendees can tour two pipe plants on Tuesday, March 3 — Rinker Materials-Concrete Pipe Div. Cemex in Apopka, and Hanson Pipe & Precast in Winter Haven — and precast concrete producer Leesburg Concrete Co. in Leesburg, Fla., on Thursday, March 5.
