Wally Hernandez has joined Besser as a Sales and Technical Support Representative, supporting our entire product line. He currently resides in Minnesota but will be relocating to Florida this fall. He’s excited to join the Besser team and is looking forward to assisting Besser customers.
Wally was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Florida when he was 11 years old. Growing up in the Dominican Republic he is fluent in Spanish. After graduating from high school, he completed a tour of duty with the Marines, working in helicopter hydraulics maintenance. Upon discharge he began his career in the concrete products industry working for Tarmac in Medley, Florida. He remained there for two years learning all he could about production of standard concrete masonry units. When the recession hit he relocated to Minnesota joined Anchor Wall Systems. His focus was on teaching producers to follow best production practices to manufacture the highest quality Anchor Wall retaining wall unis. This in-plant responsibility gave him the opportunity to learn about the operation of all different brands of production machine while travelling the world.
Wally enjoys a good challenge. He has an inquisitive mind and an intense appetite for learning, along with a mechanical aptitude and a desire to travel. He’s one class shy of earning his Master Blockmaker certification and is looking forward to completing his bachelor’s degree in the coming years. He’s happy that his role at Besser will keep him busy learning about the complete Besser product line while also providing him the opportunity to travel, a pursuit that he truly enjoys.
