When not out placing concrete, Central Concrete is actively supporting the community. On July 27 Central sponsored an event where teams competed to pull a 38,000 pound Central Concrete truck to benefit the Special Olympics.
Teams put their muscles to the test during a special display of brute strength and teamwork at the Special Olympics Northern California Annual Power Pull event at California's Great America. Central Concrete, a business unit of U.S. Concrete, has been the proud sponsor of this event for twelve years.
From 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 15-person teams, joined by one Special Olympics athlete, together pulled a Central Concrete truck weighing 38,000 pounds and a Sunnyvale Deaprtment of Pulbic Safety fire truck weighing 66,000 pounds.
