U.S. ready-mix production totaled 32.4 million cubic yards in May, or 8.2% higher than the same month a year ago, when U.S. producers manufactured 30 million yards.
Ready-mix production for the first five months of 2017 stands at 129.9 million yards, or 2.1% more than the 127.2 million yards manufactred a year ago, according to NRMCA, based on data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
U.S. producers manufactured 342.9 million yards in all fo 2017. The U.S. record for ready-mixed production is 458.3 million yards in 2005. The least annual production during the recent Great Recession was 257.4 million yards in 2010.
