Who is the nation's best bricklayer? The Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 World Championship competition at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry in Las Vegas will answer the question. Each team consists of a journeyman mason and mason tender competing to build a 26-foot, 8-inch, double wythe brick wall, laying as many brick as possible in one hour.
A team of highly qualified industry experts check each mason’s wall for workmanship and production to determine who will make it to the winner’s circle. Winners take home more than $100,000 in cash and prizes and the champion is awarded the title "World's Best Bricklayer" and handed the keys to drive home in the grand prize, a new Ford F-250 4x4 SuperDuty Truck.
Attendees set their schedules around this event and the bricklayers give the crowd an unbelievable show by laying as many as 800 or more bricks in one hour. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m. in the Gold Lot.
