Carl Hass, the interim chair of the department of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Waterloo, argues that statistics concluding the construction industry has recorded low production output gains over the decades are unfair.
Hass says there's been at least a 4% increase in labor productivity in the past decade. He credits this production boost to new technologies including robotics/automation, new materials, building materials, and worker training initiatives.
